A day in a Yukata attire! 01/21/2012

Yukata is the name and Lovin’ it is the game! Scratching out number 3 from my bucket list- yehey for moi! Imagine the pain Japanese girls suffer from wearing their traditional Kimono – a 6 layered piece where they literally have to be careful just to keep the Kimono properly tucked in. It takes around 45 mins to wear a kimono where a Yuka prolly takes around 10 mins or maybe even less. A Yukata is worn during the hot summer days. It’s cheaper, more convenient, and comfortable to wear than of a Kimono.

Above is my very good friend Nguyet! (I consider her as my best friend) She's wearing a "Salllliiii" as how she pronounces "Sari" haha a Traditional costume of the Singaporeans. I love how it is so light and comfortable, fashionable as well and not to mention that it brings out your curves! :)

I miss you nguyet!!!

Japanese girls are given the liberty to add some “kawaii” factor to their traditional Kimono by placing small cherry blossom hair accessory or some eye catching earrings.

My Indonesian friend here wanted a picture with me that day. I really have no idea to what he was up to but those Red hot pants, inner shirt and Filipino Barong is hilarious.

Good thing he can pull it off.  Good job buddie!

More pictures to come...!!!

This is a photo that I took by the river, where my mother Yuriko brought me one Sunday morning.

She wanted to show me what Hakodate City has and how wonderful it is to live a simple life. Woke up in the morning, had some cold Japanese Milk tea with Curry rice for breakfast and went for a walk to a nearby park. We then went to a vendor where she purchase good vegetables at a very affordable price. She explains that the vegetables that she buy here are health and that it taste different from other farms.

After buying some vegetables we went home, spend some quality time until it was dinner time where we ate some homemade Takuyaki.

Did you know? That there are dessert type Takuyaki and it is being served at Dunkin Donuts in Japan.

Monday morning in Japan is work-day! Papa left very early and so we did not have enough time to chat during breakfast. Mama decided to teach us how to make these Japanese ornaments (forgive me, I forgot what it is called) where they would hang them on their front door during New Year to bring them good luck and fortune. We twisted some plastic covered wires that came in different colors, securing every knot with a rope, pine cone and flowers. Mama creates different designs every year to sell. So much for a hobby!

And so...more pictures!!! Lovely day!

Why Celographed?
I was thinking of a name that would be unique and catching but still have my name in it. I had a list but it all narrowed down to "CELOGRAPHED". How'd I think of it? Simple, I like taking pictures (photographs) of my own paintings and the things I encounter in my everyday life! So let's start out with "Cel" (my nickname) and end it with photograph and there you have it!

My other choices were:
Celictures (sounds like select and lectures together)
AND
Celoworld (but I used this before and I think the word "world" is overused)

So there!! Celographed... when I think about it, Neutral colors, Violet and Black are the things that get in to me... hmmm Well that's it for now!

What's you Name title?? Share it with me!
